South Bengkulu 

South Bengkulu standing by virtue of the Special Military Region Military Governor of Punjab on March 8, 1949 Number GB / 27/1949, on appointment as a Regent of Bengkulu Baksir South (formerly Manna Kaur District from 1945 to 1948 and Kaur Manna Seluma District from 1948 to 1949) . In further development was confirmed by Presidential Decree dated 14 November 1956 with Law No. 4 of 1956 (Supplement 109).

Based on the People's Community Agreement dated June 7, 2005, confirmed by Local Government. 20 dated December 31, 2005 and promulgated in the Regional Gazette No. 13 On January 2nd, 2006 Series C, dated March 8, defined as the anniversary of South Bengkulu. Under Law No. 03 of 2003 South Bengkulu Regency has become the regional growth Kaur, Seluma and South Bengkulu.
South Bengkulu, also known as Seraway. Origin of name Seraway associated with two opinions, namely:
1. Seraway sauai comes word that means the two branches of the river Musi river and bounded by the River Hill Seluma Capang.
2. Seraway comes word that means a shift of woe (celako). This is connected with a legend in which a child is the king of the upstream due to infectious disease and is cast out (washed away) and dumped into the river where the child is the king who founded the kingdom.
Seraway separate kingdom with the kingdom of Bengkulu (Bangkahulu). The kingdom is found between the river to the mouth of the river Jenggalu Bengkenang but the kingdom was eventually divided into small kingdoms called the margo (clan). Clan led by a grandfather and oversees a number of villages / hamlets. Clans in the South Bengkulu Regency is Manna Market, VII Pucukan, Lubuk Betel Children, Children's High Hamlet, Kedurang, Ulu Ilir Manna, Manna Ulu Ulu, the Son and the Cape Gumay Kingdom. But they are united on the basis of one and one descent and one family of languages.
Language in South Bengkulu Regency consists of two native language is a language that is widely used Pasemah from the river mouth up to the border district Kedurang Kaur Seraway while the majority uses language which is derived from the Malay language.Based on 2000 Census ethnic groups in South Bengkulu is Serawai 76.87 percent, 13.39 percent Pasemah, Java 2.89 percent, 2.21 percent of the Minangkabau, Malays 1.06 percent, 0.95 percent Sundanese, Batak 0, another 73 percent and 1.89 percent.

South Bengkulu has a center at Manna is located 140 km from the city of Bengkulu. South Bengkulu can be achieved only with a 3 hour drive. Attractions can be visited::

This cave is known as the Ulu Suluman Kedurang and situated near the River Kedurang. This cave can be reached by four wheel drive to the village of Batu Ampar, then proceeds on foot to the scene. In addition to seeing the uniqueness of this cave, we can also see the uniqueness of the surrounding community. Suluman Kedurang ceveis located at the headwaters Kedurang, precisely in the village of Batu Ampar. This place will be in reach after going through half of our journey by public transportto the village of Palak Siring and then walk to the village of Batu Ampar.

Kuala Padang Guci

Padang Guci is one of the name areas in Indonesia, Padang Guci located in the District of Bengkulu Selatan. The beauty the uniqueness of Kaur Padang Guci is natural prairie and very attractive. Linau Beach

Beach of Pasar Bawah Manna

Located of Ulu lake is about 15 km from Manna. The lake is perfect for resting and fishing. It is the center of the city of Bengkulu province that there are many tourist attractions are very beautiful. 


The located of Geluguran waterfall in the village of Fino, Manna approximately 45 minutes from the city where two-wheelers with four-wheel want any. The place is very good tourist attraction and natural. Geluguran waterfall is consisting of seven levels so it is very beautiful and for the tourist who likes the natural panorama. Usually many visitors come to this place and exactly on holidays. Geluguran waterfall sights right on high way verges which connect the city to fence nature Besemah Manna. You can also bathe here, for the water itself is not too deeply about ± 2 meters and you can also enjoy with the beauty of the mountain chain here.

Muara Kedurang Beach
